What you type stays on your phone. We only see it if you press "Send these to us on WhatsApp" or "Send them by email form" further down. It is kept on this phone, so it is here when you come back.

How it works

  1. Type your toastie bar and your toasties.

Example. A phone showing the step "What do you sell?" for Corner Toast Bar: a line and its price being typed, and the menu beside them with the lines typed so far.
  2. Pick how it looks.

Example. A phone showing the step "Pick how it looks": the menu for Corner Toast Bar on the left and the same words in other looks on the right, one of them chosen.
  3. Change the colours, if you like.

Example. A phone showing the same step with "More colours" open and another colour chosen: the menu for Corner Toast Bar is in that colour.
  4. Share it on WhatsApp, or print it.

Example. The finished menu for Corner Toast Bar filling a phone screen, and the same picture printed on a page stuck to a wall.

The pictures show examples with made-up places and prices.

Run a weekly deal? Put it on a free page people can open.

A Weekly Eats page shows your specials by day, in your own words, with the price where there is one.

Listing is free. Nothing goes on the page until you have checked it and published it.

How listing works

Or type your place name and an item above. Then you can send them to us from here.

How do we check it is your place?

To make sure it is really your place, we set it up with the email address your place shows publicly, on its website, Google or Facebook. If it shows no email, we phone the number it lists and ask you to confirm by email. A phone call alone is not enough. So we can only set up a page when we can check the place is yours from something it already shows publicly. If your place has nothing online yet, we cannot set one up from here, and the poster maker stays free to use. If you message us on WhatsApp, message from the number your place shows publicly.

You get a picture to post, and a bigger one to print on a normal printer page (A4) or half a page (A5), not a Word file. Free, no account, and nothing is uploaded: the picture is made on your device.

What goes on a toastie menu

1Toasties first
Put the toasties at the top, then the ones served with chips, then the extras and the drinks. A customer comes for a toastie and finds the toasties before anything else.
2The filling in the name
Write the filling in the name: "Ham and cheese", "Chicken mayo". Say the bread only when it is out of the ordinary, so the list stays short.
3Chips in their own section
A toastie with chips costs more than the toastie alone, so it sits in a section of its own, "With chips", with the chips in the name of each line.
4Extras together
An extra cheese, a fried egg or a side of atchar is one line each, with its price. Under All options, press Add a section, like Drinks, to give the extras a heading of their own, at the foot of the list.
5Drinks last
Coffee and cold drinks go in the last section, with the price at the right. A cafe with a long coffee list can keep the coffees on a board of their own.
6Prices at the end of each line
Each price sits at the end of its line, so nobody reads across a gap to find what a toastie costs.
7Where the menu goes
Print the printer page (A4) for the window and the half page (A5) for the counter by the till. Post the tall picture on WhatsApp Status when the menu changes, such as a new filling for the week.

A toastie menu, step by step

The menu has four sections: toasted sandwiches, toasties with chips, extras and drinks. Type each toastie with its price, and put the ones with chips in their own section. The line at the foot gives the opening hours.

Tips

  1. Keep the fillings short: cheese, ham and cheese, chicken mayo.
  2. Say the size in the name when there is one: "Chips, small" or "Chips, large".
  3. Put the drinks last, so the food reads first.
  4. Leave out a filling you cannot make on the day.
  5. Use the line at the foot for your hours and where you are.
  6. Put the bread in the name only when it is not the usual, like "Sourdough cheese toastie".
  7. Give the atchar its own line in Extras, so a buyer can ask for it by name.

Questions

Can I list a toastie with two fillings?
Yes. Type both fillings in the name, like "Ham, cheese and tomato", and give it one price.
Can I offer a toastie with chips and one without?
Yes, in two sections: the toasties in one, and the toasties with chips in the section called With chips, each with its own price.
Can I put my logo on the menu?
Yes. The box for your photo and your logo is under All options, and you can leave both out. Neither is sent to us.
Can I change the menu each week?
Yes. Change the lines you want, then save a new picture for the week and post the new one.
