How it works

Three steps: type the special, it shows on your page with the date you confirmed it, and one tap keeps it current. Phone or desktop, either works.

Pick the days, name it, price it, say what kind of deal it is and how many it feeds. No password, no app.

What it is

Weekly Eats lists specials from restaurants and takeaways in Cape Town's northern suburbs. Every one is put up by the place itself.

It is a pilot and may not continue. There is no audience here yet, so we are not promising you traffic.

What you do

Sign in, type the special, answer two short questions about it, and publish it. Phone or desktop. No password, no app.

We ask you to confirm a special twice at most, and one tap answers. Confirming keeps it on your page for another four weeks. A special nobody confirms comes off the page on its end date. Your page itself stays up.

Tick "My phone number is on WhatsApp" in the portal and diners get a WhatsApp button on your page.

What it costs

Joining in the pilot fixes what you pay afterwards: R100 a month for pilot places for their first 12 months, and R200 a month for places that join later. No contract. Billed monthly by debit order or card; EFT if you prefer.

None of that starts yet. Your page goes live free. Once it has been live for two weeks we ask for the pilot fee: R100, once, refunded in full if you cancel during the pilot. Pay it and your page stays; skip it and the page comes down. The pilot runs for eight weeks from launch, nothing else is charged during it, and your feedback is what we ask for.

Your specials are public. We may also pass them on to partner apps and services so more people see them. You can ask us to stop at any time by email.
