Terms
The deal, in plain words
These terms are between you and Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd, which runs Weekly Eats. Signing in to your page or publishing a special means you accept them.
Who you are dealing with
Weekly Eats is run by Lefty23 (Pty) Ltd, a private company registered in South Africa under registration number 2026/706220/07, based in Cape Town. Its registered street address, which is also the address at which it accepts legal service of documents, is on the public CIPC register against that registration number and we give it to anyone who asks. Reach us at [email protected] or at weeklyeats.co.za. We belong to no self-regulatory or accreditation body and subscribe to no code of conduct, so there is no alternative dispute resolution scheme to apply to.
We take no card details and process no payments on this site. When a fee falls due we email you and tell you how to pay it; nothing is ever debited from you automatically. Your page goes live as soon as you publish your first special, before any fee is asked for. Keep the emails we send you, which confirm what you agreed and what you paid; ask us at [email protected] and we will send you a copy of that record at any time.
On the seven-day cooling-off right in section 44 of the Electronic Communications and Transactions Act: it does not apply here, because section 42(2)(d) excludes a service that begins with your consent before the seven days are up, and your page goes live the moment you publish. We would rather not rely on that. Cancel during the pilot for any reason and the R100 comes back in full, and after the pilot you can cancel any month by email. Either way, write to [email protected].
If you list a place
You confirm that you run the place, or act for the person who does, and that every special you publish is true on the days it says. You own or have the right to use every photo you upload. You keep your specials current: we ask you at most twice per special whether it is still on, and a special comes off the page on its end date unless you confirm it.
We show your page and your specials to diners and may pass them, with your place's public details, to partner apps and services. We may remove a special or a photo that is untrue, unlawful, or not yours, and we may take a page down that breaks these terms. We tell you when we do.
What it costs
During the pilot your page goes live free. Once it has been live for two weeks we ask for the pilot fee of R100, once, refunded in full if you cancel during the pilot. Pay it and your page stays; skip it and the page comes down. Nothing else is charged during the pilot, which runs for eight weeks from launch.
After the pilot: R100 a month for pilot places for their first twelve months, and R200 a month for places that join later. No contract. Cancel at any time by email and your page comes down at the end of the month you have paid for. We are not registered for VAT, so no VAT is added.
If you are a diner
Every special is published by the place itself and shows the date the owner last confirmed it. We do not sell food and we cannot promise a special is available when you arrive. Check with the place if it matters.
The rest
We run the site with care but provide it as it is, and we are not liable for a loss that comes from relying on a special or from the site being unavailable. Personal information is handled as our privacy notice says. South African law applies. We may change these terms; the date below says when we last did, and a change that affects what you pay is emailed to you first.
