How it works

What goes on a samoosa price list

1Each filling on its own line
Put each filling on a line of its own, with its half dozen price and its dozen price on the same line. A buyer finds the filling they want and sees both sizes.
2Half dozen and dozen
Under All options, tick "Two prices on each line, like Small and Large" for the samoosas section, then type Half dozen in the box First price is and Dozen in the box Second price is.
3Frozen packs to fry at home
Frozen samoosas sold in a pack go in a section of their own, with the pack size in the line, such as "Mince, pack of 24".
4Other savouries beside them
Spring rolls, chilli bites and mini pies go in a section at the foot. Name the count in the line, so a buyer knows how many they get.
5Orders and notice
Say in the line at the foot how far ahead a function order needs, such as "Orders for functions, two days ahead".
6Where the list goes
Put the A4 sheet on the counter and the A5 half sheet on the table where orders are written. Share the tall picture on WhatsApp Status whenever a price moves.
7Sizes you can count
Name the count in every frozen pack and dozen, such as "Mince, pack of 24", so a buyer compares like with like. Say in the name whether a half dozen is six of one filling or a mix, because a buyer will ask.

A samoosa price list, step by step

The list has three sections: samoosas by the half dozen and the dozen, frozen packs to fry at home, and other savouries. Type each filling with both prices, and each pack or dozen with one. The line at the foot asks for function orders two days ahead. The frozen packs sit under the fresh ones, because they are bought for the freezer.

Tips

  1. Name the filling the way your buyers ask for it: mince, chicken, potato.
  2. Use Half dozen and Dozen as the two column names, so the sizes read the same down the list.
  3. Keep the frozen packs in their own section, with the pack size in the line.
  4. Use the line at the foot for function orders and how far ahead they need.

Questions

Can I sell a single samoosa on the list?
Yes. Make a line with one price, in a section of its own, such as "Single samoosa". A line with one price has no second column.
Can I show the frozen packs as well as the fresh ones?
Yes. They go in their own section, with the pack size in the line and one price for each pack.
Can I add a photo to the list?
A photo is optional. Add one from the box under All options, or skip it.
What size does a printed samoosa list come out at?
The A4 size fills a printer page, and A5 is half of it. Pick one on the Get your picture step.

What you type is kept in this browser on this device until you clear your browser data, so you can come back, change a price and save a new picture. A photo and a logo are optional and are not kept for the next visit.

Sizes, printing and saving

You get a picture to post, and a bigger one to print on a normal printer page (A4) or half a page (A5), not a Word file. Free, no account, and nothing is uploaded: the picture is made on your device.

How do we check it is your place?

To make sure it is really your place, we set it up with the email address your place shows publicly, on its website, Google or Facebook. If it shows no email, we phone the number it lists and ask you to confirm by email. A phone call alone is not enough. So we can only set up a page when we can check the place is yours from something it already shows publicly. If your place has nothing online yet, we cannot set one up from here, and the poster maker stays free to use. If you message us on WhatsApp, message from the number your place shows publicly.
