How it works

What goes on a platter price list

1Savoury and sweet platters apart
Put the savoury platters in one section and the sweet ones in another, so a buyer finds the kind they want at a glance.
2Say what is on the platter
Name the pieces in the line, like "Snack platter: samoosas, spring rolls, mini pies". A buyer knows what they are ordering without phoning.
3Two sizes on one line
Each platter has a price for each size on the same line. Under All options, tick "Two prices on each line, like Small and Large" for each platters section, then type the size names in the boxes First price is and Second price is, like "10 people" and "20 people".
4Add-ons at the foot
Dips and cupcakes sold with a platter go in a section at the foot. Each add-on sits on a line with its price.
5How far ahead to order
Say in the line at the foot how far ahead to order and whether the platter is collected or delivered, such as "Order two days ahead. Collect or delivery".
6Where the list goes
Print A4 for the counter, or A5 for the table where orders are written. Post the tall picture on WhatsApp Status when the prices change.
7What is on each platter
Name the pieces after a colon when they are not obvious, as the example does with "Meat platter: wings, ribs, wors", so a buyer knows what arrives.

A platter price list, step by step

The list has three sections: savoury platters, sweet platters and add-ons. Each platter has two sizes, 10 people and 20 people, with a price for each. Orders need two days notice, and the line at the foot says so. The snack and meat platters name their pieces, so the buyer knows what is on them.

Tips

  1. Name the pieces on each platter, so a buyer does not have to ask.
  2. Put the savoury and the sweet platters in separate sections.
  3. Give each platter the same two sizes as the others, so the prices line up.
  4. Use the line at the foot for how far ahead to order.
  5. Keep the add-ons at the foot, with one price each.

Questions

Can I list a platter in more than two sizes?
Not on one line. A line holds one price, or two when its section has two. Put a third size on a line of its own, with its own name in the line.
Can I show delivery on the list?
Yes. Say in the line at the foot whether the platter is collected or delivered. Type a delivery charge as a line of its own if you charge one.
Can I add a photo of a platter?
A picture of a platter is optional. Add it from the box under All options, or skip it.
What size does a printed platter list come out at?
A4 is a full printer page and A5 is half of one, which suits a table. Print it is on the Get your picture step.

What you type is kept in this browser on this device until you clear your browser data, so you can come back, change a price and save a new picture. A photo and a logo are optional and are not kept for the next visit.
